Do you like the snow? We’ve certainly gotten our share so far this winter! As a child and young adult, I enjoyed all the winter activities such as sledding, skiing, ice skating, snow forts and snow angels! Today, I still love the snow, but more prefer to stay inside watching it fall, adorning the trees and bushes! After the necessary snow shoveling is done, I relish the opportunity to be in the kitchen baking homemade breads and cookies by the warm, crackling fire!
If you too like the snow, perhaps you’d enjoy watching the snow geese migration nearby at Middle Creek Wildlife Management area, whose free state museum opened for the season on January 20:
The geese are quite a sight to behold as they congregate in large groups and tend to follow a leader! These birds are most abundant through mid March. Bring your camera to take some beautiful photos of the tens of thousands of snow geese taking to the skies around dawn and dusk! Middle Creek is located just fifteen minutes due west of the Brownstone Colonial Inn.
